EMO4iCity investigates the research question "How can current and future options for enabling low-emission mobility be implemented in a user-centred way? The disciplines of transport planning and economic psychology are working together on this.

The Corona pandemic and the home office obligation led to a strong change in traffic flows and to the rethinking of many companies regarding "on-site presence".

The effects of home office have been widely researched and described. Most of the companies located in the industrial park also have company regulations. However, these are not agreed with the objective of reducing commuter traffic. This is where EMO4iCity comes in.

• In the research field of mobility and transport planning, research is being conducted into the extent to which emissions can be prevented through the targeted control of traffic flows on the basis of intelligent working time models.
• In the field of acceptance of new technologies, a realistic environment is important for a realistic opinion. However, radical innovations in the mobility sector are subject to regulatory restrictions. For example, air taxis are not yet allowed to fly with passengers in realistic environments. There is still a research gap with regard to the extent to which such virtual reality studies can deliver valid results on the acceptance of the new technologies. In particular, it is unclear whether the increased imaginability through virtual reality leads to a more realistic opinion.

• In the research field of mobility and transport planning, the effects on commuter flows, traffic volume and routes are derived and analysed on the basis of existing research results.
  User-oriented measures are developed for the companies located there. This will provide a basis of valid data on traffic volumes and flows.
• In addition to the technical implementation, it is important to analyse the acceptance behaviour of potential users at an early stage in order to consistently avoid bad investments.
  The project will contribute to this with comparative acceptance studies between a conventional presentation (image/video) and a presentation in virtual reality.

• Expansion of HFT transfer and implementation potential through direct involvement of local companies.
• Planning tool with forecasting function for traffic volume.
• Catalogue of measures to realistically measure user acceptance of new forms of mobility.
• Strengthening the investment security of potential mobility providers with regard to innovative mobility solutions.
